Introduction
What is RINEARN Graph 2D?
RINEARN Graph 2D is a 2D graphing software designed for the fields of data analysis and numerical computation. It can plot 2D scatter plots and line graphs from coordinate data files created by numerical calculation programs or spreadsheet software.
Since it is fully developed in the Java™ programming language, it runs without installation on various types of PC operating systems, and it can also be used from a USB memory stick for portability. Additionally, it is available for free, whether for commercial or non-commercial use.

RINEARN Graph 2D is designed as a simple and lightweight plotting tool for "everyday use," rather than aiming to be advanced software for creating high-quality figures for documentation, and is meant to be used alongside such software.
Plotting options can be quickly switched from the menu bar, and the plot range can be intuitively moved or zoomed in and out using mouse operations.
The graph rendering engine is also optimized for "everyday use," prioritizing responsiveness and plotting speed. While it may not provide the same level of smoothness or visual quality as more feature-rich graphing software, it responds swiftly to mouse dragging and scrolling for range and scale adjustments. It also supports animated plotting features. Although plotting high-density graphs with over a million points may slow it down, it can still handle them.

Features of Version 5.6
The current version of RINEARN Graph 2D, Ver. 5.6, is the fifth minor upgrade in the 5.x series. The previous version was 5.4, but to align the version numbers with RINEARN Graph 3D, the second digit has been skipped forward by two increments for this release.
In Ver. 5.6, the window designs have been refined, just like in RINEARN Graph 3D, making the software even more user-friendly. The structure and content of the menus have been retained, so users familiar with previous versions will have no trouble adjusting. One of the major user interface changes is the addition of the "Quick Setting" selector, which was first introduced in RINEARN Graph 3D. This selector, located at the top right of the screen, allows users to easily switch between multiple settings.
Additionally, like RINEARN Graph 3D, this version now supports an API for controlling the software through Java code. This means RINEARN Graph 2D can now be used not only as standalone graphing software but also as a graph rendering library in Java programming. From within a program, you can perform standard operations, plot data from files, or directly pass array data for plotting and animation.
In terms of rendering, this version adds a much-requested feature: the ability to set line width. Anti-aliasing has also been enabled (and is on by default), resulting in smoother and clearer rendering of text, lines, and points.
About the 3D Version: RINEARN Graph 3D
RINEARN Graph 2D has a sibling software called "RINEARN Graph 3D," which allows you to plot 3D graphs. Both software adopt the same design and user interface, so you can use them together seamlessly. Be sure to take advantage of both!
